Oriental Shakshuka
An exceptional breakfast
This dish from the middle east con be either an exceptional breakfast or a healthy snack after a sports session.
Step 1
Cut the onion, garlic and peppers into cubes. Now fry the onions in olive oil. Once they are translucent, add the sweet pepper and finally the garlic. Instead of conventional sweet pepper, you can also use a red pointed pepper or a jar of pepper pickled in oil.
Step 2
Add canned tomatoes or fresh diced tomatoes, the tomato paste and the Lioko Mexikaner Classic. Now let everything simmer for a while covered with a lid.
Step 3
After 10 minutes, use a tablespoon to make two troughs into which to crack the eggs.
Step 4
Then let everything simmer covered with a lid for another 5 minutes. Finally, sprinkle over the chopped parsley. Shakschuka tastes best with white bread for dipping.

- 1/2 onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 orange or red sweet pepper
- 3 tomatoes or 1 can of minced tomatoes
- 5 shots Lioko Mexikaner Classic
- 1 tbs tomato paste
- olive oil
- salt
- sweet pepper powder
- 2 eggs from happy chicken
- fresh parsley
- pita bread, baguette, ciabatta or any other white bread
